Reading is fun...

This week the challenge at Scraplove.com was to make a LO based on a Life-long love. I picked reading. I LOVE reading! Every since I was little!
Dave asked my why I didn't do a Layout about him....I said, "Honey, it only seems like I've known you all of my life. If the challenge was to make a LO based on someone I'm gonna love for the rest of my life...that would DEFINATELY be you!" He was happy with that answer. (It's as if I don't have a million Dave-based Layouts already huh?) lol.

Countdown...

Now it's for REAL!!! Just one month to go! I need to call American airlines and make sure we get the seats we want...(we're flying on frequent flyer miles tickets through a partner airline so you can't pick seats online.) That is the only thing on my to do list today! I get a RARe Monday off and I'm gonna play. (mostly).
Hope everyone had a happy easter!

A fun filled weekend...

This is a Layout I did for a challenge at scraplove this week. It was taken in Orlando at the Hotel pool. I can't wait to go somewhere warm again!
Yestderday it was sunny BRIEFLY in the afternoon. I was at carlen's house playing and McKenzie (5) said "Oh, can we play outside in the sun?!? I've been WAITING, and WAITING for the sun to come out for days! (so cute!).
Today (Saturday) is shaping up to be beautiful (but not necessarily warm)... but then of course tomorrow on Easter....it is supposed to rain....again.
Last night we went and saw a good comedian http://www.donfriesen.com/newback.html He has some really funny stuff.
Happy Easter everyone!

Time to start....

Packing & trying on summer clothes to take on our cruise! (I got a new bathing suit the other day!) YAY. I am so excited for our upcoming trip...I just can't stand it.
In other news I have been a very bad blogger. I'm turning into a twice-a-week IF I'm lucky blogger. That's just no fun. Oh well.
Tomorrow I get to go play with Carlen & her kids. We'll make Easter sugar cookies. Then, tomorrow night we're going to go see a Comidian (Don Friessen) at the Comedy Underground in Seattle. We saw him for the first time on our cruise ship like, 5 years ago. He is REALLY funny and very clean. (You don't find that trait in comedians much anymore.)
Saturday we're having brunch at Salty's with our friends for their Anniversary. Then I get to go see my friend Bonnie from pharmacy school and take her Pampered Chef products to her. Woo-Hoo!
I still need to clean, pay bills, and prepare a menu before the weekend gets underway.
Happy EAster everyone!

I'm SO ready for spring!

This is a cute Layout I did of Carlen and her 2 oldest at the Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon. It reminds me that spring is around the corner. I am so ready for the warmer days (even if it means more rain!) I can't wait to see the flowers blooming and have it stay light later.
Winters are hard for me here in the Pacific NW. Yesterday I climbed Tiger Mtn again w/some girlfriends...It RAINED and the trail was all muddy. I am so lucky I didn't fall on my patootie on the way down! But exercise is exercise...and I think that doing it outside whenever possible is best!
This weekend has been a pretty non-productive one for me. I've cleaned & done laundry...but that is about it. We'll have church today...then I'm ready to takle the work week again.

Happy Birthday Tanner & My Favorite Things

This is a Layout of Tanner & Carter....Tanner's 10th birthday is Friday! No more single digits for him! Woo-Hoo!
I thought I'd list a few of my favorite things: (in no particular order)
1) Trips (or just time off!) But especially trips that are to warm sunny places, preferably with palm trees. :)
2) Tivo....how else would I watch LOST, Men in Trees, Find Your Style, Survivor, CSI, NCIS, and Numb3rs.... on MY time?!?
3) Tanning...I know it's bad, cancer, blah, blah, blah...it's how I get my Vitamin D in the wintertime here in Seattle.
4) Scrapbooking/Photography. I love to do both, though I'd like to learn to be better.
5) Organizing/Cleaning....what can I say? It soothes me.
6) Breakfast....I mean really good breakfast....eggs, bacon, toast & pancakes kind of breakfast! (but Oh, the cholesterol & calories....therefore I don't induldge often).
7) Reading....especially The Twilight Series, Harry Potter Series, and anything by JA Jance or Patricia Cornwell.
8) Live music....it's just fun!
9) Oddly enough....I'm learning to love cooking!
10) Coca-Cola! (the real thing).
11) Lunch with girlfriends.
12) Chick flicks.
13) Playing games....although I can get kind of competitive.
14) Spending time with Dave!

my true color

Take this test!
You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

Lazy weekend...

This weekend we had some kick-back & relax days. (always nice). Dave hurt his back on Saturday while lifting bags of top soil. So work in the yard was cut short. He slept it off Sunday while I made roast, funeral potatos and home-made itallian bread sticks. yum yum. Then I spent reasearching cruise excursions most of the day. Very fun.
Now we are well rested for the week....BRING IT ON!

Otis & Angus....our adorable Labs

These little guys are not so little any more. They will be 9 years old in August. That's 63 in dog years right? Otis (the white one) has a reoccuring limp and Angus (the black one) as stiff joints in addition to his mental "issues" about being the runt of the litter. They are truly a Joy to have in our family. Last 4th of July we slept out under the stars with them so they wouldn't be afraid of the fireworks. It was fun. Dave also sleeps in the garage with them whenever there is a thunderstorm. They love tennis balls, like to chase things but won't "fetch" and they don't do anything (even "sit") on demand. But we love them dearly and will miss them something awful when they're gone (hopefully in a long long time from now!)

Climbing a mountain...

I am proud to say that I climbed Tiger Mountain yesterday! Me and 3 friends decided that in order to get in shape we needed drastic measures. Shauna usually runs this 1.75 mi (each way) trail that basically goes UP Tiger Mtn (in Issaquah where the hangliders take off & land) when she is training for a marathon. It took us 1.5 hrs to get up and 1 hr to get down but the view from the top was AMAZING! (and SO worth it). We are going to try to do this every Friday until our cruise leaves. (that ought to help shrink my butt....ya think??!?!)
Woo Hoo me!

Yeah, that's right. I am a freak. A cleaning freak. It actually calms me down to clean & organize things. Clutter stress me out big time! That is why I LOVE flylady.net (check out the link over on the right side) --->
warning: it is a huge site! Start with the baby steps & make it a habit in your life!
It is very do-able.
I am looking forward to a few things right now:
1) Lost
2) The weekend
3) Hiking on Friday
4) Mary Kay party on Saturday
5) distributing my Pampered Chef stuff that just came in.
6) Our cruise
7) our trip to AZ in June
8) Scraplove's cyber crop April 4th through 6th
(If you live nearby & want to join us on Saturday April 5th....we'll be scrapping at my house!)

2) I must have missed a call from work yesterday, (there is a message on my voicemail)...can't be good.
3) Paying bills sucks....
4) I need to get my hands on book #3 of the Twilight series...
5) I'm not in the Caribbean yet....

whirlwind week

Hey everybodeeee.....( do I sound like Grover?) I have been a bad blogger
this week! I am truly sorry. Shall I re-cap my week? (Sure!)

Monday- Worked, then went to Costco ($$$)

Tuesday & Wednesday- Worked 12 hrs

Thursday- Worked in a.m, hair appt with Kathy, eye appt, then Denise & Brooke
broght over dinner (yummy tatertot casserole, steamed veggies & cookies) Brooke is such a delight!

Friday- Stayed up until 4am! (YIKES!) reading the first Twilight book! Woke up at 8am, went to the Sewing & stitcher expo with Brenda then to Azteca for lunch. Dave drove straight from work to Portland OR to tour the Nautilus factory, go to a Portland Trailblazers game, and get put up in a hotel.
Suzanne & Cindy came over & scrapbooked and talked about our upcoming cruise!

Saturday- (today~almost caught up!) Dave is driving home, then we are meeting my friends Mike & Bonnie from pharmacy school to do brunch at Salty's (Can you say Chocolatte fountain?!?!) Then tonight we're going to Olive Garden and to go watch The Boinkers (a rock coverband that doesn't take themselves to seriously) at the Great American Casino in Tacoma with 4 other couples! This band is so fun!

TTFN (That's Ta ta for now!)
